On February 19, 2011, I first met with Donna and Bob Hansen to ask for their assistance as professional realtors to begin the process of selling my home in Pukalani, Maui, Hawaii. They were referred to me by a good and trusted friend. Knowing that the economic situation regarding real estate sales on Maui and the rest of the state and country were very difficult, I knew I would need the help of high caliber realtors to help me accomplish the goal of selling my home. Thus entered the best…. The Hansen Ohana.
Immediately upon hiring their services, they brought in a professional photographer to take pictures of the house for advertising and marketing purposes. They did their research regarding home sales in and around my neighborhood. Based on all their research, they helped to determine the appropriate sale price. A few months later, I entered into a short sale agreement with my bank to avoid foreclosure. This is an entirely different arena of home sales and Bob and Donna stayed steadfast with me through a difficult and complex number of rules, regulations, stipulations and deadlines required by the Bank of America. With no local Bank of America contacts in Hawaii, it was necessary to deal with the bank in the mainland continental U.S. They also brought in the agents of Old Republic Title and Escrow Services to work on the continual communications with the bank and complete all the documents and financial work required as part of the process, which was indeed intense.
To add to this situation, my health severely declined and I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease End Stage Renal Failure and was hospitalized twice and began dialysis treatments. Every step of the way, Donna and Bob continually kept in touch with me and kept showing my home to interested buyers. I did not give up because they did not give up!
After receiving a full short sale purchase offer, unfortunately the bank did not meet their own contractual agreement deadline and I had to start the loan process again which took another 4 months. Luckily the buyer stayed with me and patiently waited for the approval by the bank. Finally at the end of December 2011, the short sale closed and the new owner was given the keys to the house! A very happy ending to a long and difficult road. I remain deeply appreciative and humbly grateful for the wisdom of their experience, the excellence and high caliber of the professional services of Bob and Donna Hansen and the Hansen Ohana! I recommend that you call upon their fine services; you will be as happy and pleased as I am!

We decided that we would look at purchasing a vacation condo for us to enjoy and to generate some rental income on Maui. We started a search online and found the Hansen Ohana Real Estate Group and a listing of condos for sale. We inquired about several of them and received an email the next day from Clint. Upon our arrival in Maui to see the condos, Clint had arranged for us to see the units we were interested in and other units we had not even thought about. He also showed us a unit that had just come on the market. We appreciated him being proactive on our behalf based upon the information we had given to him before we arrived. The variety of units he showed us gave us a good feel of what was available and how the different properties compared. Once we made our decision on the unit we wanted to pursue, Clint got to work right away and give us honest feed back on what we could probably get the unit for. After several offers and counter offers we settled on a price that we felt good about and Clint thought was the rock bottom number. Clint then helped us through the closing process and since we don’t reside in Maui he did the final walk through for us and sent us video as he was doing it. Clint gave us suggestions on people and companies to do the various inspections and services needed to close the condo. The way he made suggestions of people and companies was done in a way that made us feel that he was giving us an honest assessment and that he wasn’t just referring his friends to us. An example was when we voiced our concerns regarding the management company he contacted the owner of the company and told him of our concerns. He had the owner of the company call us and discuss our concerns and why those items existed. We were able to resolve our concerns and have now owned the condo for six months and are very happy with the service of the company. Clint wasn’t pushy and never made us feel like we were only a commission for him. He would address our concerns and would give us the facts and let us decide without him pushing us one way or another. Clint made our buying of the condo a smooth and enjoyable experience. We have stayed in contact with him after the purchase. We consider him to be a good friend not just our realtor.

His promptness in responding to questions or requests for information is second to none. He has lists of connections and services which he provides upon request. He always gives you several options and doesn't push you toward one over another; from home inspectors to local lending institutions. In retrospect, I wish we had listened to him a bit more on the lending side. He cautioned us away from using off island lenders and listed the potential issues and reasons. Our lender which we have a very close business relationship, assured us doing business in Hawaii wouldn't be an issue. Lets just say there were mainland lending issues that revealed themselves just before closing and we nearly had to start over with an on island lender or risk losing the property.
With the help and expertise of Clint, we have since purchased three properties on Maui and are pursuing additional investments. The investments have proven to be extremely wise and secure and we attribute much of our success to knowledge, education and experience that has been provide by Clint.
